Problem:
You have a tremendous opportunity to quote on a very large, four-color, brochure contract. Your prospect told you that the last time that the job was printed, their printer (your competitor) used a Premium No. 1 Coated Offset (94 brightness), but the prospect did not know the name of the grade used. You want to win this order in the worst way. How can the "Competitive Grade Finder" help you in this situation?
Solution:
Simple. You don't know the name of the grade, but do know the classification level. Just go to the Search Grade Section. Type "coated offset" into the Classification text box and click go. All of the classifications that have "coated offset" in the name will appear in an index. Move down to "Premium No. 1 Coated Offset" and click it. You will move to the Competitive Grade Finder section and find many mill and private label brands that qualify to be listed in this classification.
To make a very competitive quote, you should first make a proposal using a grade from the Premium No. 1 Coated Offset classification. Then, make a quote using a No. 1 Coated Offset, and also a third quote using a No. 2 Coated Offset. You will find links to the additional classifications in the results of the "coated offset" search. Clicking on the classification names and moving to their respective Competitive Grade Finder pages will allow you to find all the information that you need. You can call for samples of all three papers and demonstrate to your prospect how the substitution of a lesser grade might look just as good as the Premium No. 1 Coated Offset. This may save your prospect several thousands of dollars on the project and win you the job!
